Egoism
When you vote for politicians who take from your back pocket to give to others, you think it's compassionate, you think it's caring? It's not. It's depriving the recipient of his own quest for self-interest. The brilliant writer and novelist, Ayn Rand, has written about this. Let me give you a couple quotes from Ayn Rand on this.

Atlas Shrugged
People who warned about the dangers of unfettered bailouts, people who have no idea of the consequences of wholesale subprime mortgages, had no idea what it would lead to, and people who voted for bailouts have no idea what that's leading to! Ayn Rand, she wrote "Atlas Shrugged." The sequel: "Atlas Puked." We're in the middle of it.

The federal government has gotta bail out that bank. The federal government has gotta bail out this business. The federal government has gotta give money to airlines so they can merge, what you have you -- all the while demonizing the John Galts of the world. Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand.

When do we get to riot?

When do we riot? When do we stand up and say, “We have paid for all of this; we have played by the rules, and now you come to us and you tell us that the whole reason this [financial crisis] happened is because we are unfair and we are too advantaged and we are too lucky, that it's not right that not everybody can win life's lottery?” [....] [I]t's a variation on the theme of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. After awhile John Galt said, “Screw it, I'm checking out. I'm through supporting everybody else, not my job, not my responsibility, not when they're not trying to help themselves.” Atlas Shrugged.

[Caller]: Yes, I just wanted to tell you I've been listening to you since I was a junior in high school back in 1992. RUSH: A Rush Baby. CALLER: Ohhhh, yeah. So thank you very much, and you actually introduced me to one of my most influential books, too: Atlas Shrugged.

[Limbaugh:] "Residents of North Fulton," the white Republican area, "represent 29% of the county's population of 950,000. They pay 42% of property taxes." Atlas Shrugged, anyone? Atlas Shrugged? They are 29% of the population; they're paying 42% of the property taxes.

How many of you have read the book Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand? I read the book and The Fountainhead, a number of them. Atlas Shrugged for those of you who haven't read it, I'll give you the basic book report summary. It is basically about the achievers of life quitting, because they're tired of being 1% of the population pulling the other 99% in the cart.
